Canva’s Colour Picker Not Showing? Here’s Why (And How to Fix It!) 🎨
Feb 11, 2025
Have you ever tried to change a colour in Canva, clicked on the colour swatch, and then... no colour picker? 🤯
If you’re using Safari, you’re not imagining things. It’s not there.
What’s Going On?
The colour picker in Canva lets you select colours from inside in your design. Super handy when you’re trying to match a brand colour or choose a shade from an image.
But here’s the catch: Safari doesn’t support it.
It’s not a Canva glitch. The browser itself just doesn’t play nice with this feature.
How to get that colour picker back
If you want the colour picker, you have three options:
✅ Switch to Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge – Both support Canva’s colour picker without any issues.
✅ Use the Canva desktop app – There’s an actual Canva app for your computer (not just your phone or iPad). It works exactly like the browser version but with all the features.
✅ Try a different workaround – If you’re stuck using Safari, you can still manually copy and paste hex codes to match colours. Not as smooth, but it gets the job done.
Why This Matters
If you’re designing in Canva—whether it’s for a school project, a social media post, or anything creative—colour matters. And having full control over your colours makes everything easier.
EDIT*** Well, I've given myself away as an infrequent user of Microsoft products - in the video, I suggest to use 'Explorer' - please replace that word with 'Edge'. 🤓
